Over een periode van vier jaar maakten zij acht reizen naar de boreale bossen, om op zoek te gaan naar de verhalen van de bossen en de mensen die in de bossen leven. De boreale zone, een cirkel van voornamelijk naaldbomen die zich uitstrekt over Europa, Azi\u00eb en Noord-Amerika, is van onschatbare waarde als een enorm reservoir van koolstof. Het project brengt de impact van klimaatverandering op het leven in deze bossen in beeld, maar toont ook aan op welke manieren de bewoners de bossen proberen te beschermen.<\/p> <p>Tijdens het interview vertelt Jeroen Toirkens over het project, over zijn ervaringen als fotograaf en over de verhalen achter de foto\u2019s die te zien zijn in de tentoonstelling.<\/p> <p>\u2018<em>Borealis\u2019 is tot 26 maart 2022 te zien bij Hangar in Brussel in de context van het PhotoBrussels Festival en de overzichtstentoonstelling &#8216;In the Shadow of
