Since 2017, Géopolis has been involved with Euradio, a community, civic and independent radio station founded in 2007, whose distinctive feature is to weave local and European dimensions into every aspect of its programming. Building on this partnership, the Géopolis team opened a Euradio station in Brussels in 2019 and, in this context, produces weekly programmes broadcast on the new website euradio.be.

The Euradio project
Across Euradio’s 18 stations, you will find local-European news, supported by an editorial team made up both of journalists from different European countries and by the participation of civil society. Euradio’s credo is to talk about what is happening in Europe today, what is taking shape for tomorrow, while giving pride of place to local initiatives from here and elsewhere.
The project also includes an educational dimension, incorporating a European radio school. Euradio has received numerous distinctions, including a mention in the Louise Weiss Prize for European journalism. Euradio is currently expanding its network and has obtained 18 frequencies as part of a strategy to cover the European territory.
The Belgian station offers an original perspective on Brussels and European current affairs, while also revealing the links between the political dimension of the European Union, its practical effects on the city, and citizens’ lives. It also sheds light on the social, economic and cultural realities experienced elsewhere in EU countries, as well as the initiatives and innovative projects led by Brussels stakeholders and their European neighbours.
